Gurudas Banerjee (Managing Director / Naval Architect)
Graduated with degree of Bachelor of Technology with Honours in Naval Architecture
from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, in India
He was the fellow of the society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers in
Singapore, as well as the fellow of institution of Naval Architects in India.
He started off as an Assistant Naval Architect in Rajabagan Dockyard in India.
After around 3 years doing new construction design calculations, constructional
structural drawings, preparation of tender documents and cost estimation of
construction, he came to Singapore in 1975 as a Senior Naval Architect in Kenton
Marine Pte Ltd.
In Kenton Marine, he was responsible for a whole myraid of tasks involving
technical project management, documentation, design, calculations, analysis,
survey, supervision and study of naval related activities.
He decided to strike out on his own in 1987 and founded GB Marine Pte Ltd in
Singapore as a Managing Director, Naval Architect and Marine Consultant, as
well as an Independent Surveyor and Designer.
Xia Hailin (Senior Naval Architect)
Graduated with BSE in Transportation Engineering from Wuhan University of Water
Transportation Engineering, in Peoples Republic of China. He was a member of
the China Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
Since 1983, he worked as a Hull Engineer in Xiahai Shipyard of Guangzhou Shipping
authority in China with major involvement in ship design.
In 1987, he became a Naval Architect of Changjiang Ship Design Institute in
China. For around 8 years, he was involved in design, analysis and supervision
work.
In 1996, he came to Singapore and joined GB Marine Pte Ltd as a Senior Naval
Architect, responsible for design and supervision work.
